POD for the USS George Washington Carver SSBN656 Home Page
July 16, 2001:
· I've added a nice page about the Navy Hymn to the Memorials
and Tributes page. I found an MP3 file of the first verse of the Navy Hymn and have
made it available for download. I even found a midi file that you can hear play
while you read the page. I had loads of fun making this page.
July 15, 2001:
· Lots of little fixs here and there. Made some changes to the
index graphic file so it loads a little faster. I now have the Memorials and Tributes
page up.
July 14, 2001:
· I've now added the Reunion picture gallery
page. I fixed the guest book and have tested it AGAIN. I was calling the wrong
file. Please give the guest book a try and let me know what you think. I coded in the ping.wav file
and added the great sonar sweep graphic that my friend Rich from work made for me.
You can see the sonar sweep right on the front page. Thanks Rich! it looks great...
July 9, 2001:
· I have finished the About the Man page and the Carver history
page. I created and installed the guest book and have tested them SAT. I coded the
cute little mouse following script from a book on Java and DHTML, cute eh?
July 6, 2001:
· I began uploading some of the HTML files I have created offline
and I have uploaded some of the picture files I have. This site will be a little
Different than the last. I think I will try and keep it a little simpler. I remember
what Wayne Vachon used to say. "KISS... Keep It Simple Stupid!" :)
July 1, 2001:
· Opened this account to begin moving the files and pictures
from the old http://www.ssbn656.homestead.com site. As you may or may not know,
Homestead is going to start charging for their FREE web sites. I can't afford to
pay for this site so I decided to move it to the 20m.com servers. So far the service
has been very good. The FTP server is a little flaky, but I can't complain it's
free. I also have to convert all my pages from the proprietary Homestead formate
to the standard HTML used here on 20m. So this will take some time and doing on
my part.
